Ruinart is the oldest champagne house, established in 1729, inspired by Dom. Thierry Ruinart but founded by Nicolas Ruinart. The family has run the House for over two centuries. Chardonnay is their Champagne’s soul - expressed in their Blanc de Blancs. Drink now. 93 Wine Spectator Beautifully balanced and refined in texture, this displays exotic ground spice and floral accents to the flavors of poached white peach, Meyer lemon and candied ginger, with hints of pastry and honey. 17+ Jancis Robinson Very intense nose with sour green fruit and a strong salty note. This is very stylised and uncompromising, with loads of hard cheese and yeasty character. Not for mainstream palates, perhaps, but should satisfy most ardent fizzophiles.
